Meet the Z-Wave Alliance Staff

Mitch Klein - Executive Director

Mitch has been leading the Z-Wave Alliance since September 2015.  He is an avid Boston sports fan, tireless and optimistic beta-tester (will it ever end?), loves photography, an amateur musician (bass & drums or whatever instrument may be needed by the band) and weekend athlete. From symphony to punk rock and all in-between, he is a music lover of all types and styles (well, most all anyway). Big Monty Python fan.

Janet Collins - Director, Membership & Events

Janet has been with the Alliance since July 2008.  When she is not busy helping members and planning Alliance events, she is the finder of lost things, homework helper, truce negotiator, life lesson teacher, and the cheerleader for her two sons.  Her perfect day would be spent with a good book, a great glass of wine and a beach chair. She is a native Californian and lives in the Bay Area with her husband, two sons and dog Ruby.

Rick Tinker - Director of Technology

Rick joined the Alliance staff in June 2014. Rick has been a 'Tinker' his entire life and has been automating his home since 1992.  When he is not adding devices or automation events to his two Z-Wave networks, he spends his time helping kids enrolled in the FIRST Robotics organization http://www.FIRSTInspires.org/.

Christine Riley - Membership & Events Assistant

Christine has been working with the Alliance since February 2014. She is a mother of two who enjoys the outdoors.  They live in the redwoods of Northern California and visit the river and ocean often to collect unique rocks, driftwood and tumbled glass.  She is a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Lead and enjoys her small, close knit community in the forest.   Her daughters play in the school band and enjoy wrestling, jiu-juitsu and they raise chickens too!
